Black and Free

To all the autonomous, liberated black people out there. Go out into the coming week like you always do, unencumbered by the paranoid mentality that there is some nebulous system out there actively trying to do you harm. Walk freely while others choose to continue wearing the shackles ordered for them by the plantation owners who wish to keep them enslaved to the narrative that they are under siege, and that their only refuge is to remain a slave of the plantation. You risk being called a coon .ss ..gga, an Uncle Tom or a sell out because you refuse to walk around angry at the so called system, but you know who you are. You are no one’s slaves! You will not be forced to conform to a herd like mentality that requires no intellectual scrutiny or curiosity from you. You understand that the propaganda machine can only survive if it is not resisted. Do not become a captive to it. Hold your head up high with your shoulders squared as you keep moving forward. Face fearlessly the obstacles that you encounter, and even when it is tempting to do so, do not give in to the sheep mindset that forces you to start feeling sorry for yourself. Remember that no one ever goes through life problem free. The problems that you face are not an indication that everything is terrible in America or in the world. You understand well that a country free of racism, and other ills is a Utopian dream that exists nowhere in this present world. Do not let the difficulties that you will surely face define who you are. Remember that how you handle adversity helps to determine your character. Your numbers are few, there is much to overcome, but together you can accomplish anything by helping to change the narrative. Be strong, be of good courage and remember that God is on your side.

The Consequences of Encouraging the Grievance Culture

This is what happens when the grievance culture is encouraged (see the link below). When black people are constantly told that people are out to get them. When they are told constantly that white people are a bunch of racists they feel justified to behave this way because after all they are “victims”. When the same political party, decade after decade continues to tell black people that nothing has changed since the passage of the civil rights bills, and consistently hold black people to a different standard, this is what happens. From mostly black kids, and some irresponsible adults targeting white people in the “knock out game,” to marauding black kids in malls and other public places randomly attacking white people, this sort of behavior is never called out with the same type of fervor that we currently see in Charlotte. More white people die at the hands of black people than black people die at the hands of white people, but that does not matter because liberals/leftists are always standing by to cuddle black people, and tell them that they “understand” though they do not condone the violence. Universities now have on boarding classes exclusively for black students, separate dorms for blacks, they have courses in “white privilege,” and it is now acceptable behavior by university professors, sports media personalities, journalists and commentators to constantly attack the white male, and say things that would cause an uproar if said about a black person by a white person. The restoration of the black family is what is needed to stop this madness. This has nothing to do with police brutality, that is just an excuse to continue propagating the victim culture and it has to stop. When we continually refuse to look inward, when we fail to do any self-examination, but instead point at all of the made up demons as the cause of the problems in the black community, this stuff will never end. Black fathers need to be role models for their children, education must play a bigger role in the communities where these things consistently happen, and people have to stop making excuses for bad behavior and hold these members of the black community to a higher standard. Teach them to respect the police and stress to them the importance of complying with the directives of the police when they have an encounter with them. This is what is needed. The main reasons that the police have so many negative clashes with black people is because black people account for 52 percent of all murders in the country and 67 percent of all violent crime in these inner cities. Things will go wrong when there are so many negative interactions between the police and members of the black community. This does not mean that there are no bad police or racist cops, but they are not the main problem. When they are caught in corruption, abusing their power or behaving in a manner that dishonors their profession they should be prosecuted, but let us honestly confront the problems that exist in the black communities and start applying solutions to change the destiny of the next generation and anyone else willing to change their behavior. All is not lost, because not all black men buy in to the narrative that they are victims, not every black man is walking around enchained in a psychological prison of their own making. There are many black men who are not in captivity on the grievance plantation, who do not walk around every day believing that the system is out to get them. They are free. They have to give young black men a positive message of hope, and help them to see that they do not have to succumb to the victim culture. This is maddening! lets us with the help of God fix it. It is not going to happen overnight, but it is possible over time if we address the problems honestly.

A Message to All Independent Black Men

To all the independent thinking black men who have a contrary message of hope, keep your head up. Continue preaching your message of optimism. You have reason to be optimistic. Your expectation of good things is based on a firm grip of reality. In the face of all the America hating, do not stop telling young black men that they have no reason to despair, that they are enormously blessed to live in this country where they have tremendous opportunities to achieve their goals and be successful. Instill in them a healthy respect for hard work. Remind them that even if it is true that they will face an element of prejudice in their lives that is unique to them, they can still rest assured that most Americans of every color and ethnic background want them to be successful, that the mechanisms to help them succeed are firmly in place, and within their grasp. Let them know that they do not have to walk around encumbered by the notion that the system is designed to keep them down. Help those who believe the lie to cast off the chains of mental slavery that keep so many young black men from reaching their full potential.   Warn them against assuming the posture of a victim lest they begin to act like victims. Encourage them to reject the cynicism that leads to a life of self-pity and truly serves to keep them down. Convey to them that knowledge, and a mind that is willing to learn a different way are keys to help them unleash their latent ability, into a life exploding with possibility. Teach them to laugh at the mockers who will call them Uncle Tom for adopting this attitude, and embracing this positive outlook on life. Let them know that a blessed life is not one that is free of trials (bad things sometimes happen). Help them to see that obstacles and difficulties can be used as ingredients that lead to growth and blossoms into a truly fruitful life. Last of all remind them that God is on their side, that by his grace, his mercy, and his everlasting love they can do all things through his strength.

How Should We Deal with the Shooting Death of a Black Man by the Police?

Every life lost at the hands of the police will be mourned by those who loved them, regardless of the circumstances under which they lost their lives. When an innocent person is killed at the hands of the police as apparently happened recently in Oklahoma, it is particularly heart wrenching for those close to, and who knew the person killed when they learn of the circumstances under which their loved one died. One cannot imagine the heart ache that a mother feels when she gets the news that her son has been killed, wives will be inconsolable, children will sob their hearts out when they learn that daddy will never be coming home again.  Friends and other family members will be in a state of shock as they ask the eternal question. Why?  It will be heartless to dismiss the raw emotions that people feel in the aftermath of these circumstances. No one with a conscience or a heart can be so cruel to discard what these people go through in their moment of grief. It is no comfort to tell a grieving relative that this type of stuff only happens once in a while; that it is no big deal, stuff happens. These words mean nothing to those suffering the sudden, unexpected loss of a loved one. As a people (Americans), we must empathize with those who find themselves in these unfortunate circumstances. Investigators must leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of the issue.  Authorities must ensure that justice is dispensed.

Despite the need to empathize with the unfortunate and the grieving, it is important to not let the whole discussion get hijacked by those whose only interest is to stir racial discord amongst the people. The unfortunate loss of a young black man’s life at the hands of the police under unfortunate and tragic circumstances presents another opportunity for members of the victocracy to rage against the imaginary epidemic of police killing innocent black men. The race hustlers will be out in full force once again, preying on the unwarranted fears of many in the black community. This incident is likely to go from being an isolated case that needs to be addressed, to discussions about the targeting of black men in America. We must not allow the Eric Dysons, the Lamont Hills, the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world to be the preeminent voices that manage to shut out all others.

Many members of the black community because of this incident may once again look outward, expending a lot of emotional energy, channeling a lot of rage in the wrong direction for the problems that ail the black community in America. The voice of reason must be there to challenge the promulgators of dissention who often spew a lot of bile in times of tragedy, distrust and uncertainty. Many of these charlatans spend their time looking for reasons to be offended. They relish the spotlight and the opportunity to spread their message of deception.  The real problems facing many in the black community that need to be addressed will continue to be neglected and ignored.  As the victim class continues to expresses outrage, dissatisfaction, and their disgust at the system, the race pimps will be snickering to themselves, incredulous that once again they have managed to pull the wool over the eyes of the victim posse, while laughing all the way to the bank. Many black people, blissfully unaware of being duped will continue pushing the narrative that black men are under siege.  Perspective will mean nothing to the mob; the application of critical thinking will not even be an afterthought, emotions above all else is what will rule. Evidence, be damned! There is none so blind as those who will not see.

From all appearances, it looks like the police clearly shot this man while he was not a threat to their lives in any way. That is the issue. Let us deal with that fact, but we do not need, nor do we have to inject race into the matter like we do every single time without knowing the facts. It is bad enough that this man lost his life, there is absolutely no need to exacerbate the situation and turn it into another false crusade against police brutality. To repeat a broken record, in a country of three hundred million people, with the police having hundreds of thousands of interactions every day with the public, there is a very high probability that something will go wrong. Police work by nature is dangerous, and it is stressful. The police are human, they get scared, sometimes they make mistakes and other times they do the wrong thing. These people interact with the dregs of society on a level that most of us will never experience in our lifetime.  Let us deal with the situation at hand and not let this degenerate into another Ferguson or Baltimore.

Riding the Race Horse and Playing the Race and Victim Card.

Is there racism in America? The answer is yes, to deny it would be silly. What is undeniable though, for anyone who looks at the evidence (not what one thinks or believes), is that racism is not a pervasive, systemic problem in America. There are pockets of the country where there is more than in other areas, and it is important to continue the fight against racism wherever it exists. In America, the race business ranks up there with big oil and other industries. Many people profit handsomely from the race industry. It is in the interest of these profiteers to continue exploiting the issue by exaggerating the magnitude of the problem, and keeping people in a constant state of discontent. Many decent people’s characters have been assassinated by unfounded charges of racism because many black people and others reflexively cry racism whenever they encounter difficulties, struggles, or injustice in their lives. It almost seems like many black people and their enablers believe that the only reason bad things happen to black people is because of racism. That is why so many people cry racism for any slight or offense they suffer.

What it is like to walk around with a constant load on one’s shoulder, believing that every white shadow is a gun aimed in one’s direction is unimaginable. How burdensome must it be to be walking around, constantly thinking that there is a great machine, specifically designed, and whose main purpose and intent is to do people harm for no other reason than that they are black in America? What a load that must be! Many black people feel that way, but I refuse to be encumbered by those chains. There is no cabal of bureaucrats concocting or maintaining policies designed to keep anyone down. That is ludicrous. Most Americans want to see each other do well regardless of color, race, or national origin. To think this way is not denying that problems do exist, but there are mechanisms in place to deal with most of these problems. The system (if you will) has provided the means to confront these issues at every level and it works for the most part.

It is a simple fact of life that sometimes bad things sometimes happen.  They happen for different reasons like corruption, greed, jealously, lack of compassion and many other reasons. We understand that in an imperfect world these things exist, and we deal with these issues as we encounter them. When it comes to racism however, we have a standard of perfection, and every incident real or imagined is treated as a major catastrophe. Some people say that there are places that black people cannot go, but the same holds true for white people. There are also some black neighborhoods where white people would not be safe, but in both cases these are the exceptions not the rule. The Klu Klux Klan is a toothless tiger that is ostracized by most decent people in America, they are always outnumbered by counter protesters wherever they hold rallies/protests and they are never able to get more than a handful of support. People like David Duke could run for office, but the fact that he has never garnered any significant support is a bigger testament to the character of most Americans.

Last week’s article was criticized for saying that the young black female sailor who refused to stand for the National Anthem “chooses to wear the mantle of victim”. That opinion remains firm, in fact not only does she choose to adorn herself in it; she embraces it, snuggling up in it, getting nice and comfy, while probably up curled up with a good book reinforcing her victim mentality. Though she is young, she appears to be a seasoned member of the victim patrol, always on the lookout for reasons to be offended and when they do find a reason, they jump for joy because they feel vindicated that their catastrophic self-fulfilling prophecy has been fulfilled. The fact that she or anyone else in the Military had a bad experience is no indicator of systemic racism or sexism. The vigorous equal opportunity program the Military has that aggressively deals with these issues if/when they are brought to light is a better indicator of how “the system” works. It was also pointed out that she was protesting the vile acts committed by this country, but on that issue she is a little late. Many decent Americans have already protested and effected the necessary change, and those vile acts are now in the past. Many noble people have died, some jailed, and persecuted in the pursuit of justice and equity for all. As a result slavery was abolished, so there is no need for her to protest slavery, Jim Crowe laws have been flushed down the toilet of that sordid past also.  There is no need for her to protest the trail of tears atrocity committed against Native Americans because the country has long come to terms with that and made amends for it. There is absolutely no need for her to protest the past because many honorable citizens have already done it, and paid the price so that she can act like a spoiled brat even though she has numerous procedures to deal with any of these obstacles she may face as an individual. The path to success for this young woman is paved with gold, there is nothing she will face that is systematically designed to hold her down, in fact; what she will find are numerous “systems” in place that will help her to confront any discriminatory actions that she or any other minority may encounter. If she doubts it she should ask Denny’s if they were able to get away with it when they were found to engage in these practices, or Abercrombie and Fitch, or for that matter the TSA. If she has a decent enough grade and is able to apply to one of the Ivy League colleges and she divulges that she is an African American female, her chances of getting accepted will automatically go up. Tell her to check title seven of the 1964 civil rights and title nine of the 1972 Education Amendment Act and look at how forcefully the provisions are enforced.

Another point raised objecting to what was written is that this is not about political parties, but it is very much about that because it is one political party that has continued to tell black people for decades, no matter how much progress is made, that the system is out to get them. One could hardly turn on the television, read the newspaper or listen to the radio without hearing from leftists/liberals how terrible the country is to Black people. Despite all of the data available for from the CDC, the FBI crime statistics, studies from the Washington Post, and other sources it is the same political party that tells young black men that they are targets of the Police, and continues to cultivate distrust between the black community and law enforcement. It is the same political party that never calls on the black community to self-reflect and see what changes need to be made from within. It is the same political party that tells black people that white people are racists. They tell black people that all the bad experiences in their life is someone else’s fault.

Imagine by how many light years race relations could have been improved in this country if President Obama had used his influential position as the most powerful man in the world to help bring healing to America. Instead he has used the “go to” move of his party and played the race card at every opportunity to fan the flames of racial discord. Look at the current election cycle and see the constant references to Hitler, Mussolini, Nazis, the Klu Klux Klan, and the endless cries of racism made every single day by the same political party. On the contrary it has a lot to do with political parties, but that is not the only problem. No political party can save us (change starts from within), but let us not deny the obvious.

Systemic racism is not determined by clichés, anecdotes, and what a person feels in their head. It is the actual evidence on the ground that determines whether or not there is institutional racism. The evidence says no! These posts are not meant to agitate, but they are made in the hope, and with the intention of shaking the consciousness of many black people, causing them to think, and then spurring them to action. Too many black people are hurting themselves by maintaining this posture of victim-hood. It is time to stop it, and start experiencing a life that is full and free.

Protesting the Anthem

Why does a black woman with the potential to go as far as her ability, ambition, talent, drive and willingness to work will take her in the profession she has chosen believe that her country “does not have her back”? In a profession where there are so many success stories of blacks and minorities, where they are so well represented and rise to the highest positions of power, this woman feels the need to portray herself as a victim while trying to cast herself as brave for her stance. The answer is simple. She has been indoctrinated over the course of her lifetime to believe that she is a victim! Despite all of the evidence to the contrary, she continues to hold on to the notion that everyone is out to get her. Despite the abolition of slavery, the rejection of Jim Crow, despite the integration of the Military, Brown vs Board of Education, the civil rights acts of 1957, 1960, 1964 and 1968. Despite all of the measures taken by the country (and that it continues to take) to right the wrongs of the past and address current injustice, she believes that the country is victimizing her. She believes that nothing bad should ever happen in a just country. This woman is a product of an education system that does not tell her all of the reasons that she should be thankful to be an American. Instead they point to the faults and the mistakes of the country to show her why she should be in a state of perpetual anger and distrust. In addition she has been fed the narrative by liberals/leftists in the Democratic party that every bad thing that happens in her life or the life of every other black person is the fault of “the system”. She is proud to wear the mantle of victim, she sees herself as brave for standing against “the man”. While she is physically free, her many self appointed masters continue to wield unflinching power over her mind. She willingly and gullibly consumes the story line that she is fed by them.Like so many other black people, she willingly keeps herself psychologically enchained, trapped in a state of mental slavery from which she refuses to free herself. As long as this young woman and others like her feel justified pointing their fingers at others for all that is wrong in their lives, or in the black community in general; they will never be able to truly confront the issues that must be addressed and find true solutions to the problems that ail them. This is sad.

Mrs. Clinton’s health

Today a reporter from NCB news was lambasted, ridiculed and insulted by members of the Hillary Clinton campaign for reporting on Mrs. Clinton’s most recent coughing fit that she had during her campaign rally. Rather than respond in a professional manner to what is a legitimate news story, campaign staffers resorted to hurling insults the reporter’s way. They were not the only ones to respond this way. Others in the leftist biosphere and leftist media who have a long abandoned any pretense of objectivity also ran to the defense of Mrs. Clinton, and many castigated the reporter for reporting on Mrs. Clinton’s incessant coughing. Nothing to see here they declared, not a news story. As an advocate organization of Mrs. Clinton, this was a strange place for NBC news to find themselves (at the receiving end of liberal venom). It is one of the reasons that leftists/liberals have such a virulent hatred of Fox news. They are one of the few news organizations that does not automatically bash conservatives, and they dare to do the unthinkable by challenging the Democrat party on their inconsistencies, and other real issues that concern many members of the public. The vitriol that is usually directed at reporters like Mr. Rafferty who reported on the coughing fit is not anything new for Mrs. Clinton s campaign. This is standard operating procedure for the left in general, but particularly for Mrs. Clinton and her campaign. It is meant to remove attention from the issue at hand and cause everyone to refocus attention to the target on which they have aimed their arrows. Why address the legitimate concerns over Mrs. Clinton’s health concerns, (concerns brought on in part by the coughing fits) if you can portray as kooks and conspiracy theorists those raising this valid issue. To be clear no one is saying for certain that Mrs. Clinton’s health issues render her unfit for the Presidency. People are simply addressing the questions that have arisen because of these incessant issues, like her four and a half minute coughing fit at the rally. To ask questions on this issue is to be reasonable, but in classic liberal fashion; Mrs. Clinton’s campaign instead choose to attack personally anyone who questions their immaculate candidate. People need to start paying more attention to the scorch earth tactics of liberals/leftists and concentrate on the issues by clearing through the fog of innuendo, insults, personal attacks and the politics of personal destruction. The left has gotten away with this type of behavior for so long that they now believe they can say anything without ever being called out by those in the media, whose responsibility it is to hold all leaders (not just conservatives and Republican leaders) accountable. Liberals must not be allowed to get away with avoiding the legitimate issues that people raise, nor should they be allowed to get away with shifting focus by insulting those who challenge them. Keep them accountable.

Utopia

In a land far away there is a place where many liberal/leftists can finally find true happiness and contentment. In this land, unicorns roam freely in lush fields of orchids. As they roam they sprinkle magic petals and leave trails of miracle dust that continues to make everything alright. In this land there is no competition for anything, no visible opposition on any issue, and everyone agrees on everything.  The people are all beautiful and everyone’s a winner there! No one is judged for their behavior, there are no consequences for the decisions people make or the acts they commit. There are no grievances, no injustice, no war, no racism no crime and everyone is equal. Best of all there is no police. No effort is required to make ones dreams come true, or to achieve ones goals, no one wants for anything, there are no obstacles to overcome, and nothing bad ever happens there.  In this perfect place Colin Kaepernick was seen mysteriously standing with his hand on his heart paying tribute to what sounded like the American national anthem.

Compassion and Healing in Difficult Times (the Orlando shooting).

It is sometimes easy to get so caught up in the negativity that exists in the world (and there is plenty), that we sometimes forget there is a lot of good happening with a lot of decent people who care about their fellow human beings. There was a very moving story in the news a few days ago that a couple of the hospitals that treated victims of the Orlando shooting will not charge patients who were treated there as a result of the Pulse nightclub shooting. As much as many people believe that health care should be free, it is a service that for different reasons is very expensive, and just like food, clothing, or shelter; it costs money.

The generosity of Americans often goes unnoticed because it is such an integral part of what sets this country apart from many others. Acts of kindness are performed every day by ordinary Americans and charitable organizations in an effort to help bring relief to the lives of others in need and/or who are sometimes suffering. We usually see this munificence and willingness to help after tragedies like natural disasters strike. People generally band together, put their differences aside and work towards bringing relief in the lives of those around them. Great organizations like the Red Cross do wonderful work bringing much needed assistance and relief to those who need it the most, and in communities all across the country people volunteer their time in other meaningful ways to help their fellow countrymen.

When the heartless Islamist ideologue decided to target the night club where he carried out his act of carnage, he was motivated by a distorted sense of morality and reality that is often given birth through hate. His zealotry coupled with the intense hatred that he allowed to fester in his heart obscured his capacity to see these human beings as deserving of compassion. He refused to see these people as sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends who are loved by those close to them, and those whose lives they touched. They were no longer human beings in his eyes. His barbarism was implacable and he went on to cruelly end the lives of these innocent people who never did anything to him.

As often happens in the aftermath of similar events, the people rallied to offer support in whatever way they could. They lined up by the hundreds to give blood,  businesses got involved, Chic Filet; a restaurant that does not open on Sundays opened its doors to serve free breakfast to the people who lined up to give blood. People were shocked by what had happened, but in a sharp rebuke to the killer, and others like him whose goal it is to make people cower and live their lives in fear; the people of Orlando showed fortitude and steely resolve to help bring healing to their community. There is nothing that anyone could say or do that would ease the pain of those who lost loved ones to this abhorrent, brutal, horrific act of violence, but there is something refreshing in the way that communities like Orlando respond, and it serves to bring healing to the community as a whole and helps them to get back to a sense of normalcy after something like this happens.

The decision by the Orlando Hospitals to not charge the victims of the shooting that they treated, is an act of kindness that deserves recognition and should be applauded. They did not have to do that. In a world that is often driven by greed, where profit is exalted above everything, and everything else comes after, it is uplifting to see this act of compassion. The hospital wrote off 5.5 million in costs for the services that they rendered. The victims who survived the shooting can concentration on their recovery and not spend time worrying how they will cover the exorbitant cost of being treated. The act of kindness in itself and the relief that it will bring to many of those treated for their wounds will go a long way in their recovery process.

This generosity is nothing strange, Americans usually give their best when circumstances are the worst. The shooter gave no quarter in the cruelty of his act, he was merciless and the pain that he caused will linger in the hearts of loved ones for a very, very long time, but the people of Orlando, Florida and by extension the nation as a whole can take some solace in the equally compassionate response to this act of savagery.

Liberal outrage at Fox

Get ready to recoil in horror folks, clutch your purses ladies, grab on to your seats fellas. Those dastardly devils at Fox News are at it again. They are…they are…(gasp)…they are doing another segment critical of liberal Democrats again. How dare they!? Did they not get the memo? You do not criticize liberals. The wrath of the press is supposed to fall on conservatives alone. The audacity of these charlatans at Fox News. It’s all lies, lies I tell ya! They are just there to do the bidding of the Republican Party. Those propagandists, they are only pushing conspiracy theories. Their press credentials should be revoked. I’m going over to MSNBC where liberalism is not the default position and the coverage is always fair, or maybe to CNN where we know the journalists are neutral, always give everyone a fair shake (especially conservatives) and have no agenda, lets go.
