Final Response to Facebook Conversation

My reply is a bit long because I want to cover a lot of points, and it is hard to deal with these issues in sound bites, plus when I am finished I will move on. I am sorry to do this to you because I have nothing but love for you, so here goes. My aim is to challenge the narratives that you, and so many others just seem to buy into. I also aim to stir your thought processes in a manner that you are not accustomed to having them done, so read on if you care. First off, when I say that people opposed former President Obama’s policies, I was talking about the major movements that rose up during his Presidency. The Tea Party, the many town halls that protested Obama care, institutions like the Heritage Foundation, CPAC etc., and of course the Republicans in Congress and the Senate. As a whole, Mr. Obama was opposed on policy, and if/when people stepped out of line they were quickly chastised for their actions by the media, all of the left wing institutions, and even the people on the right, and they often had to apologize. As I said conservatives are held to a higher standard, and by and large they behave in a manner that reflects an awareness of that. There will always be people who go outside of the mainstream to attack people personally.  Trolls are everywhere.

ALL Presidents are personally attacked on some level. Every one of them! It was a rite of passage for leftists to call Former President Bush a bumbling idiot every single day. Not a day went by without that narrative being played in the New York Times, with late night comedians, news commentators, and Saturday Night live. That was the norm and it never stopped. He was called a monkey, Nazi, evil and other names. In this video CNN anchor, Soledad Obrien is laughing as she describes President Bush as “the monkey in the middle.” Remember, this is a CNN anchor. This is just to remind you that Presidents get treated unfairly. Mr. Obama though, for the most part was treated like a God, and did not get this kind of treatment from the mainstream media or other mainstream organizations. Every criticism of him was attributed to race, and they rode “the race horse” to the bitter end.

On the other points that your raised, Congressman Lamborn did not call President Obama a “tar baby” as a racial epithet. It was all in the context of not wanting to cooperate with him on the debt ceiling, and he used the analogy to illustrate getting stuck with the issue. In a politically correct society, and given the history of the term; he should have known better, but guess what, after a public outcry (which clearly demonstrates my point) he apologized. By the way President Bush’s spokesman had also used the term to mean getting stuck, when he said in reference to a question “I don’t want to hug that tar baby” meaning it’s a sticky situation”. Governor Romney also used the term to describe the “big dig highway project in Boston.” You may still disagree, but context is important. On Newt Gingrich saying that President Obama engaged in “Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior,” so what? It’s an opinion based on an interpretation of Mr. Obamas worldview, his writings and Mr. Obama’s father’s history as a rabid anti-colonial dissenter. What’s disrespectful about that? You could call it stupid, crazy, kooky or whatever, but there is nothing disrespectful about it. On the New Yorker depicting Michelle Obama as a gun toting militant and Barack Obama dressed in Muslim attire. According to the New Yorker’s explanation, the cartoon was meant to “satirize the use of scare tactics and misinformation in the Presidential election to derail Barack Obama’s campaign,” but many people did not interpret it that way, and of course they were called out for it. So even if you do not buy that explanation that they gave, and you think it was disrespectful, it is just one example out of years of favorable coverage of the President who could do no wrong. In addition This whole Muslim/Kenya thing has been around since Mr. Obama was a Senator. Remember when the Clinton campaign released a photo of Mr. Obama in Muslim Garb and his campaign manager said the following: “On the very day that Sen. Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election.” In addition do not forget that in 2008 Philip J. Berga a former Democratic deputy attorney general, former member of the Democratic State Committee of Pennsylvania and life member of the NAACP tried to sue President Obama to stop him from running for President because he believed Mr. Obama was not a citizen of the United States.

About disrespecting the first lady. Mrs. Obama had her detractors, and on occasion it got personal (like it has for all first ladies, she was not immuned because she is a black woman), but she was lauded and celebrated as the first lady. She was praised as a fashion icon, and her initiatives on healthy eating was applauded everywhere, she was all over the talk show circuit, she was beloved by the media and Hollywood. No, no, Michelle Obama was treasured by the mainstream institutions of our culture.

There is not enough space to address the Netanyahu issue or I’d be writing a book, but I invite you to go read about the Iran nuclear agreement, the disagreements they were having on the response to terrorism, the Palestinian/Israel conflict and a lot of other issues on terrorism and see what lead up to it (do not just read the Huffington Post, read all angles). If you think that is comparable to anything that is happening now then we just have to disagree.

On the difference in treatment of Mr. Obama and Mr. Trump. The country was euphoric when Barrack Obama was elected, there was rejoicing around the world at the election of the first black President of the United States. He was never held to the same standard as candidates and Presidents before him. When he said “if they bring a knife you bring a gun,” and he told his followers to “get in the faces” of political opponents no one accused him of inciting violence. When he was running against Senator Mc Cain and Governor Palin and his campaign was blasting “ninety nine problems but a b***h aint one from their audio system, no one accused him of misogyny, when Celo Green was belting out his hit single f*** you at a campaign rally in his last run for President, the media did not have a hissy fit about that. When the architect of Obama care was caught on a hot mike saying that they depended on the stupidity of the American people to pass the bill, only the conservative media thought that was a problem, when Mr. Obama was caught on a hot mike saying to Mr. Putin that he “will have more flexibility” when he is re-elected the media did not accuse him of colluding with Putin. When members of his administration were caught saying they would use the ignorance of twenty seven year old reporters who knew nothing about foreign policy to sell the Iranian deal on a false premise, hardly anyone blinked an eye. When one Texas politician made a joke some years ago about Texas independence, he was roundly criticized and called a racist, today the left is not just talking about it, but seriously discussing California secession. I could keep going on, but I think you get the point. Listen to the words of Immanuel Cleaver, President of the Congressional Black Caucus speaking about the rise in unemployment among black people. If Obama were not president they “probably would be marching on the White House.”

The response of many, to criticism of Mr. Obama is so typical of the victim mentality. This man was elected to the most powerful position in the world, but all opposition to him is termed disrespect.

What Mr. Trump is going through is unprecedented. No one was protesting Mr. Obama before he was even sworn in. No one protested President Obama’s inauguration, no one was protesting the next day before he even had the chance to implement any policy. No one accused him of being an illegitimate President like John Lewis accused President Trump, 67 congressmen did not boycott Mr. Obama’s inauguration, no holdover in the Justice Department from President Bush refused to defend the Presidents executive order, there was no congressman like Maxine Waters promising that she will not work with the President, no one on Saturday live made fun of Malia, or Sasha Obama on Saturday Night Live. There were no prominent fashion designers calling to boycott dressing Michelle Obama, no articles in the Daily Mail calling her an escort. By this time most of Mr. Obama’s cabinet was approved, there were no Senators repeating in the hope that it would stick, that Mr. Obama is mentally ill, no Hollywood director saying we cannot allow Obama’s Presidency to spread, no protesters of Mr. Obama’s Education Secretary blocking her from entering a school, no CEO promising to assassinate him, no burning cars in the streets, I will ask you again…should I go on? These are not minor incidents by obscure people on the left these are prominent people, the leaders of the movement. There is no parallel on the right, none. It has always been the norm that no matter how bitter an election campaign, there is always a “honeymoon period with the incoming President (no matter how short) except in this case. So here is my guarantee to you. As sure as you will not find grass growing in the Sahara desert, you will not find equivalent examples of President Obama being treated the way Mr. Trump is, and the only thing that is asinine is the premise there is any.

x) Lmao for some reason I seem to remember questioning rhe same thing 8 years ago. Hmmm i wonder where some of those people are now.

y) Hey, what we are seeing now did not happen eight years ago. There was opposition to the Bank bailout, the stimlus and then finally what we affectionately call Obamacare. Every issue was specific and policy based. It gave rise to a political movement that organized at the grassroots level and pursued a political course to bring change. What we are witnessing today is unprecedented, there is no parallel on the other side, none, zero, zilch, naught (you may find an isolated case or two). This is the behavior of one side of the political spectrum, and it happens every single time they lose, only this time it is a whole new level.

b) This sounds like a parallel universe to me. The amount of times I heard Barack Obama being disrespected by Republicans during his 8 years in office was deafening. Where was the cries from the right about respect for the office of the President. They even disrespected the first lady!!! The way I see it was what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

y) Nothing even close to what we are seeing now happened. There was opposition to specific policies, but absolutely nothing like this, not in the selection of his cabinet, not in the name calling, not in the protests before he was even sworn in, no calls for impeachment, no discussions in the media about him being assassinated, no riots in the streets, no blocking highways, no violence against his supporters, no calls by celebrities to punch him in the face, no one on Saturday night live calling him a black bit.., no calls by celebrities or former administration officials calling for a military coup, no high profile celebrities wishing that he gets f…by a rhino, no warnings from Hollywood directors that “it’s only the beginning” after students rioted, looted and burned because they were displeased by a supporter of the President speaking at their school, no CNN commentators calling anybody mediocre Negroes (or whiteys) because they met with Mr. Obama…should I go on? The job of the opposition party is to oppose because they have different visions about how to run the country. There is nothing wrong with that, but this is unprecedented (with a few exceptions). There is no movement that is jerk free. This is almost the exclusive domain of the left…they must own it! The right disassociates itself from its jerks because they know they are judged by a higher standard, the left embraces theirs and gives them a platform. Remember when a Congressman shouted out “you lie” to President Obama during his address to Congress. The lapdog media immediately pounced on him and accused him of racism, and his party roundly him criticized for the stunt.Give examples of this behavior on the right! But I love you all anyway. The Tea Party literally cleaned up after their rallies and they chased off the undesirables who sought to capitalize on their movement. Many times leftists actually tried to infiltrate their rallies in hoods, and holding Nazi signs, and other despicable actions, but they were never able to successfully pin their projections on the Tea Party. No my dear cousins, nephews etc. The right competes in the arena of ideas, a place where the left is always intellectually outmatched so they have to appeal to people’s emotions, labeling everything racist, or any other number of labels. That is how they win.

b) I’ll give you 3 strictly political examples.
1. Rep Doug Lamborn called the former president “tar baby” during a debt ceiling debate. 2. When a leader of the house invited Israel Prime Minister to address Congress without the consulting the President, that was “unprecedented”. 3. When Newt Gingrich said Mr Obama engaged in Kenyan, anti colonial behavior. I’ll add 1 more. When the New Yorker depicted Michelle Obama as a gun toting militant and Barack dressed in Muslim attire. The blatant disrespect Mr Obama and his family has faced from the time he took office was profound. I can give yoy countless more examples but I’m sure you nor I have the time. The backlash Mr Trump has gotten is what he has invited because of his divisive rhetoric. You say Obama only got criticized because of policy disputes. Well if protests with dummy replicas of Mr Obama being lynched and depicted as a Muslim is over policy, well then I must be seriously deluded by the media. Both parties have shown disrespect to the other I’m sure. But to even say what Mr Trump is getting is worse than Mr Obama and what Mr Obama got was strictly over policy is completely asinine

When We Respected the Office of the President

Does anyone remember that time in American history when people respected the Presidency despite disagreeing with the person at the helm of the office? It was a time when, the President could do no wrong and everyone came to worship at his feet. The President was able to move mountains with his grandiloquent speeches. Back in those days criticizing the President was anathema. No matter how valid one felt the criticism was, no matter how deserving of rebuke one believed, one simply was not allowed to criticize the President. It was a long time ago, and with the short term memory that so many Americans have, it may be difficult for many to remember. Today, those that do remember are looking back nostalgically at those halcyon days when our sitting President walked on water, and could do no wrong. Back in those days, if one “crossed the line” and personally attacked the President, it was considered as blasphemous, and those who dared to do it felt the wrath of the President’s protectors.

At one point during that period of our history, one upstart TV news opinion host, in a display of braggadocio thought that he could get away with calling out the President, and pointed out what he perceived was a flaw in the President’s character. That was the TV host’s first mistake, for the newly elected President had no flaws, and was incapable of making mistakes. This TV host should have known that he did not stand a chance months earlier when one devoted follower of the President had declared that “I would not have to worry about putting gas in my car, I wouldn’t have to worry about paying my mortgage.” This President was different. He was deity!

After this TV host declared that the President hated white people, the world came the closest to World War three than it had in the prior decades during the height of the cold war. Predictions of the Apocalypse ensued, and the gentleman was roundly criticized for even allowing the thought that the President did not like white people to cross his mind. The thinking was that anyone who made such a statement was just another privileged white man accustomed to undeservedly reaping the benefits of his whiteness, spewing off at the mouth. Before he could figure out what happened, he was apologizing for the sin of attacking the immaculate President. He was chastised for being insensitive, out of touch and being a racist. Calls for civil discourse followed for the rest of that President’s term in office, anyone who dared to rise up against him or his policies with any unsavory words felt the wrath of the Praetorian Guard media.

Nothing that happened under this President’s watch was his fault and just by virtue of him being in office at the time, served to prevent even bigger messes (if anything that happened under his watch can indeed be called a mess). The American people who believed that he deserved at least some of the blame were never smart enough to understand how just having this brilliant presence in the White House was in itself a privilege and blessing, the likes of which America had never known.  Issues like Solyndra, the Fast and Furious scandal (which was not really a scandal because as we have been since been reminded in the history books, this President had no scandals under his watch), Benghazi, the email scandal of his Secretary of State (another non scandal), the pulling out of American troops from Iraq triggering one of the worst refugee crises the world has ever seen, the decent of Afghanistan back into chaos, an Iranian deal that many experts say will lead to a nuclear Iran, the targeting of journalists, one of the biggest environmental disasters, GDP never reaching 3 percent during his entire term, the demonization of the police etc., etc., etc., are all just misunderstandings. The list goes, on, but why bother because these were the best of times.

Today it is now acceptable to protest a President before he is even sworn into office. It is now OK to call the President a Nazi, a white b***h, a psychopath, a dictator, mentally unstable, declare that he “is not my President,” and for the media to openly talk about the President getting assassinated. Obstructing the selection of a cabinet to get on with the country’s business is no big deal, sullying the good name of anyone chosen to serve in the administration is OK. Rioting on college campuses, wreaking havoc on the streets, destroying private property, blocking traffic on America’s highways, and committing violence against anyone who disagrees with the status quo are all perfectly fine tactics to rid the country of what those who know better than ordinary, decent law abiding citizens, have determined is a cancer. It is all justified, because the old Praetorian Guard that once ferociously protected the President during the happy days of yore have determined that the current President in particular is dangerous. Having made this determination, they have deemed that any type of behavior is okay to bring about the demise of this Presidency. They will hold no one accountable for any of the madness that many are now witnessing play out all over the country. The behavior that is currently on display, as people work feverishly to bring about the downfall of a President they do not like is necessary and good. Bravo for these courageous people of the resistance!

Does Hard Work Pay?

Yesterday, San Antonio Spurs Basketball coach Greg Popovich declared that “if you work hard and lace up your shoes, you can have the American dream, that’s a bunch of hogwash.” He was opining that this sentiment does not apply to black Americans living in this country. Many applauded his “courage,” for “telling it like it is,” for “speaking the truth.” So, if we understand Mr. Popovich correctly, black people are doomed to failure because “the system” is there to keep them down. Mr. Popovich’s statement is not helpful to any black person living in America, and it reeks of the stench that emanates from too many rich, white liberal elites who condescend to black people by making statements like these, and in the process set themselves up as heroic figures that black people need to represent their cause. They then soak in all of the admiration and praise from like minded elitists, and too many black people who then become even more entrenched in a victim mentality.

The irony is that the National Basketball Association with whom Mr. Popovich is employed is dominated by black players. Their demographic makes up almost seventy percent of the league’s members despite being only fourteen percent of the nation’s population.

Career counselors know all too well that making it to professional leagues like the NBA and NFL requires a lot of hard work, and the chances of success in achieving the goal of becoming a professional ball player is very low.  It is tougher than making it to, or in most professions, yet still so many black people make it.

In essence, the message that Mr. Popovich is giving (intentionally or not) to black people is that the many black athletes in the league he represents either did not make it on their own merit and hard work, or he is saying that the only place where hard work can pay off for black people is in the world of sports, because that is one arena where black people have proven to be successful overall. Black people are also some of the most successful people in the entertainment industry, but that probably does not count because becoming, and being and entertainer is easy…no hard work required there either.

According to Mr. Popovich’s world view, if a young black man or woman wants to become a lawyer, doctor, engineer, banker, or businessman, hard work is not enough to get that person to his goal, in fact; getting to those goals are mostly pipe dreams because “the man” is going to be there every step of the way doing everything in his power to ensure that he is not successful. So if a black person was to follow the path of President Obama or any of his Attorneys Generals in pursuit of his dreams, he’d better be prepared to not make it. If a black person emulated the course that Clarence Thomas or Ben Carson took to reach the pinnacle of their career field, it is near impossible for that black person to achieve what she sets out to. Doing what Michael Jordan has accomplished as a businessman was a sheer stroke of luck that simply is not probable for any black person who laces up his boots and works hard, because you see, that person is not white. So there you go! Thanks Greg Popovich.

So what are black people to do? They have to realize that they are incapable of being successful on their own, and they must look to self-appointed saviors of the black community. These saviors will reinforce the theory of black victimhood and feed them the narrative that they are disadvantaged. Many black people will continue to waddle in this victimhood while also continuing to look to others for handouts, because after all; they just cannot do it on their own.

The truth is that the only hogwash being told is Mr. Popovich’s nonsensical statement that hard work does not pay for black people, and this insistence on treating black people like incapable victims in a system that by large rewards those who follow a certain path. No one (especially black people) should view Greg Popovich as any kind of courageous straight talker who knows how to “speak truth to power.” He is a great basketball coach who happens to be a leftist hack that continues to live in a state of constant outrage, and perhaps a measure of white guilt that he must assuage no matter how much things have improved in the United States. Any black person who hears this foolishness should reject it for what it is and refuse to accept this notion that he/she is anyone’s victim. Reject the idea that white people have any inherent advantage over you simply because he is white. Instead, try to pattern the things that most successful white people do, or any other successful group of people for that matter, and you will immediately increase your chances of success.

Call out Mr. Popovich for the liar that he is and refuse to play into his game. See yourself as American as any other person, cast off the shackles that people like Greg Popovich attempt to place on you. Walk around as free men and women with your head held high and follow the rules of success that many have followed to find success.  These rules are the same for everyone. Of course there is no perfect system that exists anywhere in the world, and sometimes bad things just happen. There are issues that black people have and that need to be addressed, but the answer is not simply in he notion that the nebulous “system” is holding them back. Do not walk around with your head hanging down thinking that life is one big litter box simply because you are black. Do not play into that trap!

Hate and Violence over Free Speech

Two nights ago at the University of California Berkley, students came out to show their outrage, and protested over an event on their campus. The protests soon descended into a chaotic scene as the demonstrators displayed their primal instincts by rioting in response to the event. They rioted like soccer hooligans angry that their favorite team had just lost to their most bitter rivals in the European Cup finals. They wreaked havoc in the process as they looted and destroyed property, they blocked traffic, and set parts of their campus on fire. Some attacked supporters of President Trump as they protested and took a stand in the name of “tolerance.” What were these protesters so angry about you may ask. Well, they wanted to shut down speech that they did not sanction. They labelled it hate speech-which pretty much means that it was a speech that challenged their liberal ideas. They called the speaker a “White Nationalist.” It did not matter that the speaker was a gay man, a man, for whose demographic they usually see themselves as champions. What matters the most is that he dares to stray from the path that the speech and thought police have laid out for him as a gay man.To be quite clear, the speaker, a man by the name of Milo Yianopoulous is quite crude. His whole schtick is based on challenging the boundaries laid down by the enforcers of political correctness, but he is no racist, White Nationalist or “alt-right champion.” He can be quite obscene, foul mouthed and obnoxious. In the midst of this, he also espouses many conservative principles, and he is a big supporter of President Donald Trump. For this more than anything he has incurred the wrath of the tolerocracy who deem it acceptable to behave in the manner they claim speak out against. For them, tolerance is a one way street. It means being accepting of their belief system.

The media has attempted to  change the narrative by blaming the riots, and the violence on Mr. Yianopoulos, and the right in general. They do not see the irony in their continued attacks on conservatives, for conservatives’ so-called intolerance, while the people they rabidly defend and for whom they have forsaken their responsibility continue to resort to violence, and all manner hateful rhetoric and vitriol over and over again. After the rioting seen around the world was done, in a post that should cause tingles to run down, and up the spine of anyone who cherishes free speech, and the political process in this country; a Hollywood celebrity took to Twitter to warn conservatives. Director Judd Apatow let it be known that “this is just the beginning. When will all the fools who are still supporting Trump realize what is at stake?” Translated, this simply means that if you voted for or support President Trump, you deserve what you get and there is more to come.

Ladies and gentlemen, for anyone who does not believe that the left in this country (spurred on by the Democrat party) is dangerous; you need to reevaluate your assumption. What we are seeing in our country today, if not addressed, and continues to be encouraged by Politicians displeased over the election of Donald Trump, will lead to terrible consequences. This madness that we are seeing currently on display will not end well.

In a demonstration of how hysteria now common place on the left, a former member of President Obama’s Administration has suggested that a Military coup to get rid of President Trump could be warranted. Liberal Comedian Sarah Silverman echoed her sentiments, and said: “WAKE UP & JOIN THE RESISTANCE. ONCE THE MILITARY IS W US FASCISTS GET OVERTHROWN. MAD KING & HIS HANDLERS GO BYE BYE.” Reporters openly talk about the President being assassinated and as as usual, the anti-Trump media is not interested in any of this. They are not condemning this behavior, they are not calling on Democrat politicians to appeal to their base to stop. As cities across the country openly defy the federal government and refuse enforce federal law, the media remains conspicuously silent. Many conservatives ask if what we are seeing now had happened under a Democrat administration, what would the reaction would have been.

Once again, it is important to lend some perspective to what is taking place in the country right now. With the unprecedented reaction that we are seeing in response to the election of President Donald Trump, the question must be asked; why is this acceptable, but opposition to President Obama’s policies was largely deemed to be racist (even though he was able to get a large part of his agenda passed)? Those who opposed President Obama’s policies were just as passionate when he was elected twice, but they behaved like adults and respected the political process. This is the biggest difference between the right and the left. The left is violent and cannot trade in the market place of ideas. Their arguments do not stand. The have to appeal to people’s emotions, use hysteria, demonize people, threaten and intimidate in order to get support for their message and their cause. They are literally dangerous! What we are seeing today is an indicator of what will happen if these people ever get their hands on unfettered power.

As

The Unhinged Left

On inauguration day the tolerant masses came out in a display of righteous indignation to Protest the swearing in of President Elect Donald Trump. To no one’s surprise, they did what was expected of them. At different venues, they clashed with the police, some vandalized buildings, vehicles were set on fire, they burned garbage, some yelled f***k Trump, and of course there was no shortage of their favorite activity-violence. For eight years every bit of opposition to the sitting President was deemed to be racist, no matter how peaceful, or no matter the reason. The Tea Party was savaged in the media for their opposition to President Obama’s policies. They never engaged in this type of conduct. Their opposition to many of President Obamas policies was always fierce, but they were always respectful. The media did everything to cast them in a negative light, and tried to associate them with Nazis, the KKK, and other extremist groups, but despite their differences with President Obama the Tea Party always maintained their decorum, and eight years later, what we are seeing now in response to the new President cannot be compared to any display of opposition to President Obama. There is simply no parallel!

Once again, it is plain for everyone with just a sliver of discernment to see that this behavior is almost exclusively the Domain of the left. This does not mean that there are no extremists on the right, but by and large they engage in the political process in a respectful manner, and leaders always forcefully disavow those whose behavior tends to put a blot on their movement. Once again, there is no equivalent to what we have seen on the part of the left since the election of Donald Trump, especially in the last few weeks leading up to inauguration day. How these people have ever been able to claim the moral high ground remains a mystery because this conduct by them is not anything new.  The people who have engaged in this behavior over the years have to a very large extent primarily belonged to one political party. Guess which party it is.

Every rare instance of violence, display of racism or any negative behavior by conservatives is always used to cast a blanket over the entire conservative movement or the Republican party, but the Democrat party continues to get a pass no matter how despicable the behavior of their followers may be, and the fact that the vitriol, utter hatred, intolerance, bigotry and violence that has been on display by them is standard operating procedure. Not everyone on the left or in the Democrat Party approves of this behavior. Many of them are decent people, but it would be dishonest to say that the recalcitrant players on the left are just a fringe element of the party. They are part of the mainstream of the party, and many prominent people in their movement engages in this behavior. Until leaders in their party begin to unequivocally disassociate themselves from them, and forcefully disavow themselves from these hooligans, they will continue to drag down the Democrat party.

What many of the people who did not vote for President Trump, and are behaving like spoiled children fail to realize is that the people who opposed President Obama in 2012 were just as disappointed, but they understood, and had appreciation for the political process. They used the disappointment to fuel their passion, and it helped to usher in one of the biggest political comebacks in American history. There were no CEOs calling for the assignation of President Obama, none calling on their workers who voted for him to resign. They did not go out in the streets and block traffic, vandalize buildings, or attack Mr. Obama’s supporters. They kept their focus and continued to make the case for change.

As the left continues to talk to us about tolerance, they continue to demonstrate a complete lack of self-awareness with their contrary behavior. Today the Hollywood director Joss Whedon referred to Ivanka Trump as a Pekinese breed of dog. As anyone who has been paying attention knows, another word for a female dog is b**ch. Imagine for one moment if Chelsea Clinton was referred to as a Pekinese. In another instance over the weekend a comedian on Saturday night live joked that Barron Trump will be the first home schooled mass murdered. Now imagine again if a conservative had made some tasteless joke like this about one of President Obama’s children. There would be no end to the race baiting, we’d here how racist the country is and how angry white people are about a black man in the white house.  Liberals feel comfortable behaving this way because they know that they are held to a different standard. If there happens to be an outcry as there was in the case of Madonna, in response to her expressed desire to blow up the white house; then an excuse that she was taken out of context or an apology would suffice. They hardly ever pay the same price as those on the right who may engage in similar behavior. They can always find rest in the political party that has provided them a home for decades. Let them continue to become unhinged and expose themselves for they really are. They are afraid of engaging in the arena of ideas, because their policies are based on emotions and good intentions, but they do not work and this is all that they have to offer in response. Maybe this display is what we need for people to finally reject their party and banish them into political exile. They should remain in exile until they reacquaint themselves with the mainstream of America.

Religious Freedom in Ameica

On inauguration, it was refreshing to see and hear people unabashedly and unapologetically pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Not to throw it in anybody’s face, but because over the last few decades people have been more and more hostile to Christians, prayer, and public expressions of religious devotion by anyone who claims to love Jesus Christ. It has become customary to go into conniptions at the mention of the name of Jesus Christ in public, and so many believers have been cowered into silence for fear of offending people because of that name. Military leaders in the last few year had forbidden their chaplains from praying in Jesus name, and have threatened the careers of their chaplains for committing this egregious act. Here is a story from a few years ago, and in this story; two VA chaplains faced a similar fate.  In a more recent incident another Navy Chaplain, in addition to the treasonous act of praying in Jesus name, had the audacity to express his deeply held conviction on marriage and sexuality. A few years ago the American Family Association was portrayed as a domestic hate group in a military briefing because of their stance on traditional marriage. The AFA holds to traditional Christian values and because of this they are a constant target of those who wish to implement a radical leftist agenda unopposed.

While a lot is made of intolerance toward Moslems, and people from other faiths; intolerance toward Christians usually happens without even a ho hum from the otherwise watchful protectors. Christianity is the one religion that one can say anything about without any kind of blow back. One can make all kinds generalizations about Christians, and never have to worry about any protests over bigotry towards them. While persecution is something that Christians expect, because they have been taught that their decision to be follow Jesus Christ will often be met with hostility, and at times they may even have to suffer for their faith; what makes this trend troubling is that this country was founded on the principle of religious freedom, and a lot of the hostility that Christians face comes from official sources.

It is one thing for Bill Maher to get on his show and make fun of Christians, and to ridicule their belief in Jesus as their savior, for Sarah Silverman to do the same in her comedy show, or for a Harvard Law Professor to call on people to treat Christians like Nazis; that is to be expected, but it is quite another issue when Christian people become the target of officials in government, and other well-funded groups like the ACLU. Though persecution from governments is also not unheard of in the history of Christianity, it is very unusual for the United States.

Because our constitution guarantees the right of all people to follow their beliefs, and to worship according to their conscience, it is important to guard against the encroachment of Government on the religious freedoms of its citizens. If the Government can tell us what to believe, how to pray, or worship, then there are no limits to what they can tell us to do. No one can say that this country is not a haven of religious freedom, because it is. It is still the best place to be for anyone who wants to experience religious liberty, but we must jealously guard against the minute chipping away of these rights, because if we ever lose our freedoms it will not happen overnight, but through a very slow creep, and as people become complacent. To quote James Madison again “since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation”.

There has been a concerted effort over the years to deny the Judeo/Christian heritage of the United States. This does not mean that America is or was a “Christian nation” in a theocratic sense, but there is no denying that many of the governing principles under which the country was founded was based on Judeo/Christian values. The founders never required that religious discussion be banned from the public square, only that congress make no law respecting the establishment of any religion.

For over one hundred and fifty years Christian traditions were an integral thread of our society until it started coming under slow but constant attack by some in authority, and other well-funded organizations. We have gone from being a nation built on solid Judeo/Christian principles and values that has moved civilization forward like no other philosophy in the history of mankind, to a nation that began prosecuting chaplains for praying in Jesus name, and holding to their beliefs. Teachers can now lose their jobs if they pray with their students, referencing the bible can be precarious, and pastors can get in trouble with the IRS for expressing their religious beliefs from the pulpit.  So it is encouraging that at the inauguration of the President of the United States of America, the people called upon to give the invocation, called on the name of Jesus without any reservations, with boldness and with pride.  This may be a small thing in the overall fight, but it is a boon for those who have felt like they had to keep silent for fear of being targeted. It is all part of the many reasons why so many people love Donald Trump, despite his many flaws.

Pigs on the Capitol Wall

Yesterday, Republican congressman Duncan Hunter removed what he considered to be an offensive mural that hung on the wall on Capitol Hill. The painting depicted police officers as pigs killing people on the streets of Ferguson. After he removed the painting, members of the Capitol Hill Police expressed their gratitude to Representative Hunter for taking the bold stance to remove the painting. Not everyone was pleased though. Representative William Lacy-a member of the Congressional Black Caucus-whose office was responsible for hanging the painting in the first place, was indignant. He reported the incident, and even suggested that Representative Hunter be arrested for theft. Ladies and gentlemen as you read this, just put all of your politics aside for a moment, and think of this for one second. A member of Congress thought it fitting to hang a picture in the halls of the seat of power in our nation, depicting police officers as pigs killing black people.

The painting is based on a false narrative, and represents something that never happened. The police officer involved in the shooting in Ferguson had his story corroborated, and he was exonerated by the Barrack Obama justice department run by Eric Holder. In the investigation that followed the shooting, evidence showed that “hands up, don’t shoot,” never happened, and members of the justice department wrote in their findings that they do not understand how something that was so patently false came to be so widely accepted as a truthful account of what happened. A year later, people still chant the “hands up don’t shoot” mantra although it is based on a lie, and the terrible depiction of our law enforcement officers continues to be encouraged by no lesser individuals than representatives sitting in the chamber of the house of representatives.

For anyone who has been paying attention, this is the modern Democratic party at its finest. This is not a fringe element of the party. This is who they are. Their record is there for anyone to examine, it is a part of the public record. These are the people that voters elect to represent them at the highest levels of Government, and this is how they choose to behave. They do not give any consideration to the effect that their actions have on the society. They never have to worry about crime waves hitting their communities because they dwell in ivory towers away from the madness of it all.

As representatives of the people they should understand better than most that (as one radio personality put it) where there is no barrier to lawlessness, lawlessness will thrive and prevail. It may be that their biggest concern is to do whatever is necessary to stay in power, so they shamelessly pander to the mob instead of being the voice of reason that they have been elected to be. Rather than use their position to bridge the chasm of distrust between the police and members of the communities that they serve, these charlatans seem to be on a mission to further the divide that often exists in many of the communities that they serve. People must stop doubting their own eyes and ears, stop making excuses for these politicians, then categorically reject them. It is only one party that employs these shenanigans, and have been allowed to get away with it for decades. It is time to hold them accountable. This simply must not be allowed to continue.

It is no wonder that despite all of the progress that we have made as a nation, so many black people continue to feel that they are under siege by a system designed to keep them down, contrary to all of the evidence that shows this is not the truth. When it is a centerpiece of a major political party’s platform to foster distrust between the police and the communities in which they serve, there are bound to be consequences to this insidious tactic. In the meantime the people who suffer the most as a result of this sinister ploy are the people they claim to represent. While they play this dangerous game, crime continues to rise in the communities that need a strong police presence. In addition the police have become reluctant to conduct many of the everyday aspects of policing for fear of being labeled racist, bigoted or trigger happy.

CBS’ “60 Minutes” obtained data from inside the Chicago Police Department revealing that as killings in the city rose, police activity fell. In August of 2015, cops stopped and questioned 49,257 people. A year later, those stops dropped to 8,859, down 80 percent. At the same time, arrests were off by a third, from just over 10,000 to 6,900.”

The police know all too well that it is inevitable for violent encounters to occur in their interactions with the criminal minded elements of society, and that sometimes things simply go awry, or wrong. Life on the streets can be very unpredictable! In a job that could be highly stressful, where quick thinking is often required and split second decision making is often a feature of the job, the police are more hesitant to engage because they are worried about being the object of a witch hunt.

In a Representative Republic as the United States, people will have differing opinions about how to govern, but the radical leftist politics embraced by the Democratic party, where representatives think that it is ok to depict the police as pigs on the walls of the Capitol cannot be allowed to find a home and feel comfortable, regardless of what your political philosophy is. They should be shamed into conducting themselves with more honor.

Leftist Hate and Media Hypocrisy

A few days ago an associate professor from Drexel University expressed his desire see a white genocide for Christmas. On Christmas he sent out a tweet that said “To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian revolution that was a good thing indeed.” He was unapologetic and said that he was using satire to mock the concept of “white genocide.” There was no indication from the University that the professor would lose his job, or be disciplined in any way for his nefarious tweet. No one should be surprised by this because in current day America, it is now acceptable to say anything about white people without any fear of repercussions. The fact that this University Professor felt comfortable making such a troublesome statement is a signal of where we are as a society. As usual, the left is held to a completely different standard than everyone else.

Every four years or so the media goes on a trolling spree, digging up the name of David Duke and doing their best to link him to conservatives in an effort to paint the conservative movement, and anyone affiliated with the Republican Party as racists, but they do not bat an eyelid at this type of behavior when it comes from their fellow leftists. The double standard is mind blowing. The good thing however is that we live in the information age, and the left no longer has the media monopoly they once did. They no longer control the narrative, and news organizations like Fox News, The Drudge Report, Breitbart news, talk radio and other media organizations provide a counterweight to their once biased dominance. It is no wonder that people on the left so passionately hate conservative media, and are on a constant drive to discredit it.

In another demonstration of white hatred, a few weeks ago; a black lawyer called for black jurors to acquit any black person accused of killing a white person. This representative of our judicial system doled out the victim card to justify, and advocate for the blatant disregard of justice and fairness when jurors perform their civic duty. There was no outcry in the news media, no calls for this lawyer to be disbarred, there were no protests, or demands for an apology from the usual suspects who are always crying out for racial justice. The self-appointed champions of the victim class are not interested in tackling these barefaced expressions of racism. They are more interested in deciphering the messages in so called “dog whistles,” reading the minds of conservatives or anyone affiliated with the Republican Party to find racist meaning in the most innocuous statements uttered. Once again, it is no exaggeration to say that the left is dangerous, and this ideology must be combated by pointing out their sordid actions.

The lengths to which they will go to further their agenda knows no limits. Whether it is faking hate crimes, harassing Ivanka Trump on a plane while flying with her children, declaring unequivocally like Congresswoman Maxine Waters, that she will not work with the incoming President, or through violence like they are prone to do; the true believers are unafraid. They know that their comrades in the traditional media will always have their backs, and that the consequences they face for the things they say and/or do are never as dire for them as it is for their counterparts on the right. Maybe this is a good thing, because it forces the right to be more circumspect in the way they conduct themselves, and the more that the left continues to behave in the manner they have; people become more aware of who they are. Though the double standard is there, and the traditional media refuses to hold them accountable, the new watchdog media is there to pick up the slack and expose them. Let the left continue to show it’s face.

America Forsakes a Friend, Refuses to Veto Anti-Israel UN Resolution

If there was ever any doubt about President Obama’s commitment to his liberal agenda, today’s decision to abstain from voting on the United Nations anti-Israel resolution should leave no doubt about the mixed up priorities, interests, and allegiance of this historic President. The UN resolution condemns Israel over the expansion of settlements in the occupied Palestinian Territories without any similar harsh condemnations of Palestinians terrorist shenanigans. For years many have accused this administration of being anti-Israel, and today’s action by the administration establishes this perception as a fact.

No one familiar with the workings of the United Nations is surprised by the actions of the Security Council. After all, the august body that is the UN has in the past appointed nations like Iran, Libya, Cuba, and other ruthless governments to sit on the Human rights council of the United Nations. Saudi Arabia was appointed to chair the Human Rights Panel one year ago, so this should give an idea of how mixed up the UN is.

For years, the United Nations has demonstrated a lopsided biased approach to the Israel/Palestinian conflict, but the United States has always served as a buffer of sorts against the onslaught of unjust resolutions against the state of Israel. President Obama, in one fell swoop has thrown that long standing policy out on its head by abstaining in the vote, and allowing the resolution to pass. Just one week ago UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon stated that he believes Israel faces UN bias, demonstrated in the “disproportionate volume of resolutions against Israel.” Mr. Moon has since walked back his comments, but they are nevertheless worth acknowledging.

In forsaking the Israelis Mr. Obama has unwittingly taken the side of those organizations that have committed themselves to the destruction of Israel. In the process of this action by the United States, the Obama administration has delivered another punch to the gut of the one democracy in the most volatile corner of the world. Israel stands alone surrounded by hostile nations that do not share its values, (values that align so closely with the United States). It is the one true ally the United States has in this part of the world.

The Israeli/Palestinian conflict is the trigger point for many problems in the world, so it is important for the United States to show leadership on this, and many other issues that affect our world. For years the Palestinians have refused to negotiate with Israel, they are the ones who have consistently refused to come to the negotiating table to work out a settlement of the conflict. In the year 2000 the Palestinians rejected an offer of Statehood from the Israelis. Israel offered them ninety five percent of the disputed territory in the West Bank, and all of the Gaza strip. The Palestinians turned it down and instead resorted to the intifada. They chose to remain in a position where they could then portray themselves as victims, and thus feel justified in continuing their violent campaign indiscriminately firing rockets into civilian neighborhoods, blowing up cafes using suicide bombers, slitting the throats of babies, committing knife attacks on innocent people, and committing other acts of terrorism. They do all of this with the assurance that they will continue to get a pass from the United Nations.

With this resolution, the United Nations has inserted itself into an issue that should be resolved by the two sides involved in the dispute. In passing this one sided resolution, the UN has given the Palestinians more reasons to feel justified in their continued aggression against the people of Israel. If the Palestinians can continue to refuse to negotiate, and then simply go to the UN for solutions, then why bother to negotiate?

People forget that the current conflict was started by the Arab states. After the United Nations voted to divide the land that was called Palestine into a Jewish and Arab state (please note that that this land was not a country called Palestine), the Jews accepted the UN resolution, but the Arabs did not. One day after the British moved out of the area called Palestine, the surrounding Arab states attacked the brand new state of Israel, and were defeated. The Israelis moved pass their original borders in the process and Jordan took control of the rest of the land that was supposed to form the Arab state that the UN had voted on earlier. Some years later the Arab states again attacked Israel, and were swiftly defeated a second time by the Israelis. The Israelis gave the Jordanians a chance to stand down during the war, but the Jordanians rejected the olive branch offered by the Israelis. In the process Israel gained the territory that we know today as the West Bank (the West bank of the Jordan River). The Israelis did not seize a country called Palestine nor did they chase out the Palestinians, in fact; it was the Arab leaders who encouraged the Palestinians living in Israel to flee into surrounding Arab nations as they prepared to attack the Jewish state years earlier when they launched their first attack against Israel. They thought that they would execute a repatriation effort after a quick defeat of the newly formed State of Israel. It never happened and, the countries that received the people who fled from the ensuing conflict never absorbed them into their lands. Today, almost seventy years later, we still have Palestinian “refugees” who demand to be “repatriated” into the State of Israel. It is noteworthy that the similar numbers of Jews who fled Arab states have been fully settled into Israel, and there are no Jewish refugees today. Also important to note is that after Israel negotiated with the Egyptians a few years later, Israel gave up the entire area known as the Sinai Peninsula in exchange for peace with Egypt.

American leadership in the world is vital for stability in the world. The United States must align itself with the right causes. Those who believe that the US should play a less prominent role in the world need to understand that if we do, the void left by us will be filled by other players on the world stage. The countries best poised to fill any vacuum left by the United States do not share the same values of liberty, justice and peace that we do, and the world will be a completely different place if any of these countries are the dominant force in the world. The Obama Administration had a chance to once again demonstrate that America is indeed the shining city on a hill, in the midst of the dark and nefarious forces that operate in the United Nations. They failed to light the way, and they gave evil a chance to prevail. Once again, the Democrat party will own a very dubious legacy that they can add to their bucket of blunders.
