What it Means to be Truly Black

The venom that is constantly spewed at any black person (like Stacey Dash) for having an opinion that is not in sync with the rest of liberal views is further evidence that in the eyes of the elite, no black person is supposed to have an independent, or contrary view that liberalism is a failure. Every black person must be a supporter of Barrack Obama or be labeled a “traitor to his/her race”. It is not permitted to point out that one of the first things our President did when he first took office, was stop a very successful school voucher program that was such a big help to many poor black families who have been failed by the public school system. We should all dutifully go along in step with the liberal orthodoxy that we are victims, that the white man is out to get us and is the cause of all our problems. We must believe that institutional racism is the reason so many of our communities are underprivileged and poverty stricken. We dare not contradict our liberal masters who tell us that the police is the enemy of the black man. Woe unto us when we point out that black people kill their own more than any other group, and that black people commit more cross ethnic murders than any other group. When we look at liberal cities like Baltimore, Ferguson, and Detroit we must ignore that they have been hotbeds of liberal experimentation, and have been run by liberal and mostly black politicians for decades, yet they have all ended up in the same predicament.

These opinions, by decree of the black thought police are off limits. The official purveyors of black thinking have declared what our approved position should be on these difficult social issues. End of discussion! We must stop being so uppity, believing that we could think for ourselves, because it is evident that we are incapable of doing this. To be truly black we must ignore the overwhelming evidence that the pathway leading to the American dream is there for us to take. Instead we must highlight the unfortunate circumstances that black people sometimes face, and propagate the falsehood that it is proof America is hostile to black people. We must latch on in solidarity to the “Black lives matter movement” because they are the ones who hold the official position on what ails the black community.

Those responsible for telling us how to think have declared that it is anathema to tell certain elements of the black community that they have to take responsibility for their own actions. We dare not point out that it is a disservice to black people, to blame all of their ills on “the man”. The law has been laid down by our white liberal overlords and official black “leaders”. Black people are not supposed to think for themselves, they must not conjure an independent thought that contradicts what we have been told to believe, no matter the consequences. Our controllers have spoken! Those of us who dare to differ shall feel the wrath of these rulers who have appointed themselves the arbiters of what black people should think.

They will make an example of anyone who does not toe the line. It then becomes legitimate to viciously target those who have fallen out of line. Stacy Dash can be called the White Ann Coulter dipped in butterscotch without a word of outrage from anyone, Condoleezza Rice can be called aunt Jemima without any objection from the Al Sharptons of the world, and Clarence Thomas can be labeled a lazy ignorant Uncle Tom, because that kind of vitriol is legitimate when directed at those who stray. Ben Carson is an idiot because he believes in conservative principles, a successful black woman like Deneen Borelli can be called the vilest names without a word of protest from the owners of black opinion, because in their minds; she deserves it. These successful black people are not to be admired for their many accomplishments, for being fine models of what is possible when one works hard. They deserve to be scorned. To be truly black, one must propagate the falsehood that black people are under siege in this country, and that most of the bad things that happen to them is because of racism.

We dare not conjure an independent thought that goes against the grain because our masters have spoken it.

The Racebaiting Continues

The race baiters are at it again! Politicians are busy accusing other Senators of racism for saying that they will not confirm President Obama’s nomination to the Supreme Court. These are the same people who invented obstructing nominations to the Supreme Court. With the tables turned they are turning to the reliable tactic of inciting racial tension. Is there anyone who is just really sick and tired of this constant effort to stir up racial division in this country? Without ever offering any proof, claiming to know what is in the mind of others; these people just throw accusations of racism up in the air.
A few years ago they had a proposal to block any nomination to the Supreme Court for eighteen months, because they did not want the outgoing President’s pick to have such a long term effect on the court. Now they are crying racism. STOP IT! This race baiting is not new, it is part of a well thought out strategy that is meant to create discord, and win the votes of black people, by pandering to their insecurities. The Irony of this behavior is that these people, who are always so quick to cry racism and accuse anyone who opposes their policies of racism, are the same people who have no problem disrespecting any black person who dares to stray from the liberal plantation. Black conservative thinkers are fair game as far as these people are concerned. They never call their behavior racist. It is ok to say the vilest and most hateful things about people like Ben Carson, Armstrong Williams, Mia Love, Stacy Dash and any other black person who dares to wander off the reservation of liberalism. Decent people are tarred and feathered for no other reason than being independent thinkers who do not buy in to their propaganda.
People must utterly reject this behavior. Be free to support whichever political party you choose, but at least take a deeper look at, and learn about the issues. Go beyond the clichés and the narratives. Make a genuine effort to learn both sides of the issues, then develop a philosophy based on knowledge, but reject this abhorrent behavior that constantly demonizes people for believing that there is another way, a better way to do things. You may find it to be very liberating.

Terrorism, Ideology and Failed Policies

A few days ago President Obama released ten more detainees from Guantanamo Prison where enemy combatants of the United States are held. These are enemy combatants who were captured on the battlefield waging war against the United States forces. They do not care about the Geneva Convention, and have no reservations about committing unspeakable acts of violence through the use of terrorism, in order to further their ideology. These are hardened, committed evil men who are happiest when they spill American blood. Mr. Obama has released a number of the detainees, and according to a recent report on Fox news, one in three of them return to terrorism after being released. One of the most notorious terrorists in the world who was released from Guantanamo is the notorious Abu Bakr al Baghdadi. He is the leader of ISIS and his reputation for brutality is unsurpassed. His ambitions are clear and he will stop at nothing in his effort to achieve his warped vision of establishing a caliphate across the globe. There is a dispute that Bhagdadi was not released by Mr. Obama’s administration, but that matters very little because the danger of wantonly releasing these captives is clearly demonstrated in Bhagdadi. There is a very clear danger that exists that cannot be ignored, in releasing these enemy combatants. The President however seems to be more concerned, and interested in fulfilling his promise to close Guantanamo than he is in protecting America from the dangers posed by these men. He insists that keeping these men detained for the acts that they have committed against the United States poses a greater danger, and threat to this country than releasing them. Without citing any data, he continues to say that they serve as “a recruiting brochure” for terrorists around the world. This argument is akin to saying that we should not fight them because fighting them only makes them angry, and come harder after us. It makes no sense, especially considering how well we treat the detainees.

Mr. Obama believes that trying to pacify our enemies will somehow cause them to see that we really mean them no harm, and as a result they will stop attacking us. This attitude is not borne of any evidence that shows this approach works, in fact; the evidence shows that it is generally perceived as weakness and encourages more defiance.  Most insurgencies that get crushed, dictators who are overthrown and defeated, all across the world are beaten through the superior aggressive use of force.

Mr. Obama’s commitment to his ideology is what drives him, not proof that what he is doing works, or that the things he says are true. Diplomacy only works when all participants are equally committed and invested in a common desired outcome. Appeasement as a strategy fails every time. When has it ever worked with an enemy who has no interest in the outcome that the appeaser seeks? There is no way that he does not know this, yet he stubbornly insists that somehow, some way, people (including our enemies) will eventually see the wisdom of what his intentions are and that it will then yield results.

Barrack Obama’s foreign policy architecture has been an abysmal failure, and it seemingly does not matter that the consequences of his actions continue to put the United States at risk. In addressing the concerns of those who were seeing the rise of ISIS, and the danger they posed, he derisively responded that ISIS was a JV group. Despite all of the warnings and the evidence that Iraq would fall into chaos if the United pulled out prematurely, he did it anyway. The United States has lost more troops in the first four years of Barrack Obama’s Presidency than during the entire eight years of the previous administration. Today the Taliban controls more territory in Afghanistan than they did since 2001. We have lost much of the successes gained through the spilled blood of U. S. service members since significantly recklessly reducing our presence in Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama has made all of these blunders and counterproductive moves despite being warned repeatedly that the results we see today would be the likely outcome of his policy of disengagement. This President seems to have a penchant for being on the wrong side of the most important issues, and it does not seem to bother him. By supporting the disastrous Arab spring movement of 2011, the Middle East is now in chaos and the rest of the world is feeling the consequences of this insipid foreign policy.

While the failure of his Presidency is evident to everyone (everyone! Despite what his supporters may say), Mr. Obama continues to act as though no one sees what is happening. With the assurance of one living in the Twilight Zone he touts all of his failures as successes while Americans and the rest of the world of the ask “really?”  He doubles down on wishful thinking to get things done, and insists that hope as a strategy is productive, results mean nothing to him and intentions triumph over results. America as a country is the greatest force for good in the world, not because we are better than anyone else, but because of the values that we have espoused to since our founding. We cannot ignore what is going on around the globe and believe that we would have a safer world by extricating ourselves from everything that is happening, or by burying our heads in the sand. There are no easy answers but it is in America’s interest to continue leading the world on these difficult issues.

The Emperor Is Naked

The emperor is naked! He walks around with the confidence of a man fully adorned in a brand new tailor made suit. He is now delusional and believes the lie. His minions will not confront him on his inappropriate lack of attire. Like a group of mindless sycophants, they all commend him on his sharp looking suit. Oh that a child would rise up from among them an boldly declare “THE EMPEROR IS NAKED”!

The Squandered Opportunity of Barrack Obama’s Presidency

In two thousand and eight, then Democratic candidate Barrack Obama road a wave of soaring rhetoric all the way to the White House. He mesmerized the public with his cool style and he excited everyone with his statesmanlike demeanor. He was a different kind of candidate who seemed above the fray, and the people were excited by what they saw in him. Apart from his charismatic appeal, he was perceived as the antithesis of the outgoing Republican administration, seemingly offering all things to all people. Moreover, as the first African American candidate with such wide appeal; his candidacy represented another opportunity to demonstrate that we had indeed overcome the vestiges of our slavery stained past and healed the wounds from years of racial strife. His charm compensated for his lack of experience, his dazzling personality and his promise of change made up for the absence of a substantial record.

People gave him the benefit of the doubt when they found out that for twenty years he attended the congregation of a raging anti American racist who subscribed to the loathsome doctrine of black liberation theology. When they found out that he advocated for doctors carrying out the original “wishes of the mother” if a baby survived an abortion, people made excuses and said that Republicans were misrepresenting his views. When during his initial campaign he admonished his followers to “get in people’s face,” only the conservative media reported it and sounded the alarm. In an obvious reference to Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican convention he said, “you can put lipstick on a pig, it is still a pig”. The people in the room with him lapped it up, guffawing uncontrollably at the snipe.  At one of his campaign stops he blasted Jay Z’s “ninety nine problems but a bitch aint one”. No one cried sexism, but once again everyone came to his rescue beating back critics with cries of “misrepresentation” and over reaction. Despite these signals that would have raised alarm bells in any other candidate people preferred to believe the hype and put their trust in what was possible in this exciting and fresh candidate.

After capturing the presidency, Mr. Obama soon began to express himself in a more candid, fearless manner and almost immediately, the upbeat language of reconciliation that he used to soar to the Presidency started to be replaced a with much coarser vernacular. Within days, of taking office he injected himself into a local police matter. Instead of using his position of power to calm racial tensions, and without having any facts, he accused the police of “acting stupidly” towards a black man who was justifiably approached by the police. This was the beginning of a pattern that repeated itself over the next few years in every high profile police case that involved a black accused and white officers.   He never used his influence to be a soothing balm, but instead repeatedly fanned the flames of racial tension. On several occasions he has played the race card, inferring that people who oppose him did so only because of his race. He even once told his followers, “if they bring a knife, you bring a gun”. Furthermore he has done nothing to tamp down on the hysterics of a complicit media who continually accuses Americans of racism for opposing the President’s policies.

In the first few weeks of his Presidency, still sounding in full campaign mode, he told Republicans “they can come for the ride but they have to sit in the back of the bus”. He has impugned the character of anyone who dares to challenge him on his politics, suggesting that they only have nefarious intent for doing so. In shameless acquiescence to identity politics, he called those opposed to gay marriage bigots, he has demonized the rich, mocked those who questioned the validity of man made global warming/climate change, and accused those who oppose Obamacare of wanting the sick to suffer or die. He continues to use scorn and ridicule as a means to silence his political opponents. To this President, those who oppose abortion are not motivated by deeply held convictions, but by a supposed war on women.

The great irony is that he engages in this type of behavior while he sits perched on a pedestal extoling himself as the paragon of moderation, reason and virtue. Do a YouTube search and you’ll be hard pressed to find the President using a conciliatory tone or approach with the people he considers “enemies” who have to be “punished” (his words). The sad thing is that there was so much promise and potential in this gentleman’s Presidency, even if one differed with his politics. What a shame that he squandered it all. He had an opportunity unlike any President before him to take this country forward into being a truly post racial society, but he has failed miserably. He is apparently more fiercely committed to his ideology. He is unabashed about his commitment to the tactics of the Radical Saul Alinski (a man for whom he reputedly has a lot of admiration) and he is unafraid of using them. What a shame indeed!

More Hypocrisy

Today the children of Ted Cruz were featured in the Washington Post. They were caricatured as two little monkeys (let that register…two monkeys) and the cartoonist justified this portrayal by saying “…when a politician uses his children as political props, as Ted Cruz recently did in his Christmas parody video in which his eldest daughter read (with her father’s dramatic flourish) a passage of an edited Christmas classic, then I figure they are fair game.” Keep in mind that the cartoonist is talking about two children who are both under five years old, and have no control over what their father does in this regard. This is just another glaring example of the double standard that the media applies to conservatives.

Imagine what the reaction would be if someone portrayed the President’s two daughters as two little monkeys. There would be an outcry in the media and people would call for the firing of the cartoonist. The conversation would center on the racist motives of the cartoonist, and how it underscores the deeper and more serious problems of race in America. But Mr. Cruz is the “wrong” color, and he is on the “wrong” end of the political spectrum so there is no discussion of racism, and the reaction is nowhere near what it would be if he was a black liberal. This is not the first time that we have seen this type of behavior by the liberal media. We see it in the way that that they treat conservative women and any black person who does not hold to leftist orthodoxy.

In the world of these self righteous elites it is okay to call Dr. Ben Carson an idiot if one disagrees with his politics, but if you disagree with President Obama’s policies on the other hand you are immediately labeled a racist. It is okay for a columnist to write an article wishing that Sarah Palin ends up in a black neighborhood, and gets raped by a bunch of black men. In their warped thinking that is neither sexist nor racist.  Calling Condeleeza Rice “Aunt Jemima” is fair game, calling Michelle Bachman a tart, and wishing that Clarence Thomas dies of a heart attack does not elicit the type of spirited defense we usually see reserved for those who conform to their political leanings.

For many years people in the press have referred to decent Americans in the tea party as “tea baggers” (even President Obama and Vice President Biden have used this term). If there is anyone unfamiliar with the term “tea bagger” go look it up. Compare the reaction to calling Americans who simply disagree with certain policies teabaggers, to the reaction to Donald Trump saying that Hillary Clinton was schlonged (a term that NPR used in 2011 when discussing Geraldine Ferraro’s election defeat a couple decades earlier).  When the term is used by someone that these people do not like, it is vulgar and sexist, but it is a completely different matter when it is used by those who share their views.

These people so badly lack any sense of self awareness that they do not see the blatant hypocrisy in their behavior. Hopefully fair minded people on all sides of the political divide will see this conduct, call them out on it, and question the reason for this constant unfair treatment of those who disagree with them . Martin Luther King said that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. Too many of these folks seem to believe that unfairness/injustice only matter when it involves those who subscribe to their political convention.

Bring about change in our lives

How often do we awake with the feeling that we have to do something differently in our lives to bring about change? The drudgery of life forces us to imagine the day when we no longer have to be a part of the proverbial “rat race,” when we could have more choice in how we live our lives. We dream of the freedom that awaits us, when we no longer have to confront the morning traffic that eats up so much of our time and leaves us feeling drained by the end of each day, after day, after day, after….. (You get the point). We long to spend more time with family and friends, dedicate our efforts to other meaningful endeavors and support the causes we believe in. We yearn for financial freedom, we wonder if we’ll ever reach the point when we no longer have to worry about the bills, whether we’ll ever get to take that dream vacation or purchase the dream car. The truth is that life is not easy and “the daily grind” is a natural consequence of living. There is an old saying that “if a man does not work he should not eat,” and by extension he should not be able to pay his rent, purchase a car, buy gas for the car, a house, pay for rent, recreation etc. Simply put, we have a responsibility to ourselves do what is necessary to provide for ourselves and our families. There is nothing wrong with hard work and making sacrifices to attain the things that we need and want. One thing that people should consider is that any day that a person gets up and is blessed to have a job is a good day. Even if that job is one that he does not like, that person should consider himself blessed because this is how (as mentioned earlier) we are able to take care of our needs. Working is a significant part of living.

Though the average individual has to slog it out daily to get by, and we understand that “paying our dues” is a part of life; almost everyone at some point asks if there is another perhaps better way to do this. Most people come around, and they keep on moving, they go about their business with a clear understanding that “this is how it is done”. After many years many people get their reward and there is a sense of pride (rightly so) in knowing that they worked hard to achieve their goals. They have learned a lot along the way and the experience has made them better people who can share with others the virtues required to get where they are. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of this, and in fact; it should be admired. We can in fact learn a lot from these people and we are correct to hold them in high esteem.

On the other hand there are others who are not content to go the traditional way of doing things in order to accomplish their desire. Like those mentioned above they question whether there is a better way to do things, but the drudgery eats away at them a little more, and the daily grind grates away at them to the point where they become bitter. They want to do something different but there is a certain amount of security in doing what they do. They do not want to take a chance on something different because they fear failure, ridicule, what others think, they simply feel trapped or they are not willing to try something different. They never lose their desire for something different though, and they continue to dream of how life can be different and what they could accomplish with the right opportunity. Very often opportunities are all around them, but they never reach out to grab any of them and life continues for them as usual.

There is another group made up of a select few who also want more for their lives, and they seem to achieve their hearts desire almost effortlessly. People see them and they are often envied, others think that they had it easy and that they do not know the value of hard work. The truth though is that many of these individuals do know what it is like to work hard. Like the others they experienced the grind, the hardship. Many of them had the same dreams and frustrations wondering if they would ever escape the fate that ominously seemed to await them. The big difference with these people though is that many of them were willing to “step out of their comfort zone”, or forced by the sheer extreme circumstances they faced to do something different, and knew that if they did not; their life would remain on the same course or become worse. These people often take chances that others are not willing to take. There is a scripture from the bible that says “faith without works is dead”. It was written to people at a certain church to tell them that if it is in the power of their hand to help someone in need then they should do so and not tell the person to have faith God will take care of you. This scripture is true and we should remember it when we run in to those who through no fault of their own are faced with difficult circumstances in their life and need a helping hand, but it can also be applied to an individual’s life. God is not going to come down and just change one’s life around. One must be willing to take advantage of opportunities and act, it is the only way change can come.

The American Spirit

“Go West young man”. These simple words were spoken over one hundred and fifty years ago, because to go west meant the promise of an exponentially better chance of prosperity for the pioneers in a country that had not even scratched the surface of its potential. There were no guarantees, just opportunity, and the challenge was accepted by many. The hardships encountered by the people making this trek is unimaginable by today’s standards, yet year after year many uprooted there households to make the trip. Each family was responsible for themselves and during the journey neighbor looked out for neighbor. There was no government or any type of public handout for the people who decided to make this trip. This never discouraged them though, in fact; it was never even a consideration. One common denominator among them was they were all imbued with a spirit of optimism, a strong faith, and a can do attitude that suggested they could accomplish anything.

To give an idea of how difficult the journey was, here is a quote from one man during that era “To enjoy such a trip … a man must be able to endure heat like a Salamander, mud and water like a muskrat, dust like a toad, and labor like a jackass. He must learn to eat with his unwashed fingers, drink out of the same vessel as his mules, sleep on the ground when it rains, and share his blanket with vermin, and have patience with musketoes … he must cease to think, except of where he may find grass and water and a good camping place. It is hardship without glory.” On top of all of this they had to battle sickness and disease during a time when the study of medicine was still (by today’s standards) primitive. Many of the trips were made without people who even possessed the medical expertise of that time. They had to combat diseases like small pox, cholera and tuberculosis to name just a few, many died and had to be buried along the way. Other perils that they faced included scarcity of food, harsh weather, crossing rivers, and other numerous challenges. In spite of all this they persevered and blazed a trail that others would follow. Upon reaching their destination the work did not stop for them. They then had to face the task of establishing and making lives for themselves in the new territory.  They faced everything with a clear understanding that to be successful required hard work that they were willing to do.

In today’s America I hear that many young people are jaded, discouraged and believe that the American dream is dead, and I wonder how this is even possible. With so many amenities readymade and available to them they complain about how difficult life is. Many of them have been catered to their entire lives and have never known what it is to face an iota of the difficulties that their counterparts from the aforementioned period of American history had to face. They live in a world of gadgets that make so many things possible. Never before in the history of the world has the globe been more linked. Cell phones make it possible for two people to talk at a minimal cost from opposite corners of the world. Trips across the country and around that would have literally taken months can now be done in just a few short hours at unbelievably low cost, yet people complain about the lack of opportunities that they face. It may be axiomatic to say that they do not understand how good they have it. They do not have to even battle so many of the diseases that the pioneers faced, not simply because the medicine is vastly improved, but modern medicine has managed to eradicate some of these diseases. There is free education, libraries, job training programs in addition to all types of public assistance worth tens of billions of dollars every year. People today have so many ways to amuse themselves. There are movies plays, games, sporting events, museums, restaurant and the list goes on. It is hard to imagine how in the midst of all this prosperity so many can believe that the American dream is dead.

I suspect that what is missing in the discouraged generation is the can do attitude of old, the eternal optimism, the faith in God and the rugged individualism that was the foundation of an earlier time. People had to provide for themselves and they knew that if they did not do it, no one would do it. This spurred them to action and they accomplished great things. Today we must drive it into the minds of young people that opportunities still abound and that “the sky is still the limit” if they are only willing to open their eyes to see what is possible. The have to be willing to take risks in order to accomplish the impossible. They must believe in themselves and grab on to the many different ways that are available to get themselves out of debt, find meaningful and lead the type of life that they desire. We have made it through many difficult periods in this country’s history, from the country’s founding, through slavery to the civil war, reconstruction, Jim Crow, World War One, the great depression, world war two, Vietnam, the civil rights movement etc. all the way up to today’s challenges. The one constant throughout all of these leading up to today is that we overcame them all. We can do the same against the difficulties that we face today, in fact; we are more apt to do so than in any other time of our history.

Race Baiting

Why is it that every time a black man is killed by the police that the natural response from people is to charge that it was racially motivated? Could it ever be that that there are other dynamics at work that sometimes pave the way for these misfortunes. Sometimes it is simply bad police work, sometimes it is the flow of adrenaline and the fog of a hostile environment, or the police simply misjudging the actions of a suspect that is the cause.  The job of those who protect us is highly stressful and people are sometimes called to make quick life or death decisions without the benefit of hindsight. Now the loss of life under violent circumstances is always a tragedy, and as a society we need to figure out how to address these issues of violence not only after they happen but before so that we can minimize the often senseless loss of life.  Our leaders who continue to use these awful incidents to fuel the hysteria should be ashamed of themselves. Instead of using the very large pulpit at their disposal as a cause for good and to unite the country they continue to fan the flames of racial discord by recklessly imposing themselves in the fray and making unsubstantiated claims. Anyone who is interested in seeing this country move forward in a positive way has to reject this incessant brazen race baiting. Without providing any proof we are always willing to make these broad charges and assumptions about whole groups of people. We do not hesitate to sully the character of noble, decent people based solely and purely on our presuppositions. We self-righteously castigate an entire cross section of our society all the while complaining that as a community we are stereo typed and victimized. This constant knee jerk reaction of the black community to label everything a racist attack has to stop, it is long past the point of absurdity. This is downright irrational behavior and if it was not such a serious matter it would be absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately it is not a joke and the consequences of this shameless exploitation is a nation divided based on a false premise. We live in a country where opportunity abounds for anyone who wants to reach out and grab it. Some may have to overcome bigger obstacles than others but there is no one, no system designed to hold back anyone or that systematically targets any group. No one has any delusions that this appalling behavior that we engage in will or can change overnight, but those of us who have the desire and the will to change our conduct must lead the way and let others hear our voices. Perhaps we will get others to trickle in as they follow our example. Because we are a minority it may be difficult, but it is not impossible to change the paradigm . Many revolutions have begun because one person decided to take a stand. Take a stand and reject this type of behavior.

Double Standards on Race

The words of Dr. Martin Luther King, that we must judge people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin ring through loud and clear. These words reverberate throughout the corridors of the last five decades, and though they echo loudly and with distinction many people still do not hear them. Let us take a look at one of the ways that this ugly insistence on judging people by the color of their skin rears its ugly head. It is controversial because it does not follow the narrative that is constantly reinforced by the media and others in the race hustling business. It however deserves attention. In the last few years there has been a trend to casually dismiss some members of our society because they are considered to be the beneficiaries of many unfair built in systemic advantages, as a result; many think that they do not deserve any attention when they are the targets of unfair treatment. This group is often disdained and casually referred to as the “privileged white male,” “the old white patriarchy,” “angry white men,” and a couple of other terms that are meant to conjure images of scorn, division, hatred and strife. The things sometimes said against this group cannot be said against any minority group without swift ramifications, but they are nevertheless tolerated about white people because in the estimation of many “they deserve it”. Recently a black judge in Kentucky dismissed an entire jury (at the objection of the prosecutor and defense) for no other reason than that the jury was all white. In this gentleman’s mind the vetting process was not sufficient to weed out any undesirable elements that could make its way onto the jury. The fact that it was twelve white people meant to him that there would absolutely be inherent injustice. Some cheered him on as courageous, failing to see the irony and hypocrisy in their position. Earlier in the year a black college professor from Boston University declared that “white masculinity” is the problem on America’s colleges, and she went on to post a cacophony of more racist bile targeting white men. In 2013 When another Black Professor was challenged by students in her class about her constant derogatory references to white people she stated that she was not addressing them personally, but that she was talking about “whiteness as a system of oppression”. After she was reprimanded by her superiors she claimed that she was the victim of white racism. Oprah Winfrey cast a blanket over a whole group of people as she righteously proclaimed “There are still generations of people, older people, and they just have to die”! Wow! Imagine if a white person said this about black people or Hispanics? Back in August a man called in to the “FukYoFlag” program (yes that is the name of the group that hosts the program) and declared “when those mother f**kers are by themselves, that’s when we should start f***ing them up. Like they do us, when a bunch of them ni**ers takin’ one of us out, that’s how we should roll up.” “Cause we already roll up in gangs anyway. There should be six or seven black mother f**ckers, see that white person, and then lynch their ass. Let’s turn the tables.” The program host listened, gave her approval and gleefully continued the hate fest. One Black Lives Activist declared on Twitter back in September “IM NOT GONNA STAND FOR THIS NO MORE. TONIGHT WE PURGE! KILL ALL THE WHITE PPL IN LA PLATA”. Professor Kamau Kambon once called for “the extermination of white people because that, in my estimation, is the only conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet to solve this problem”. The list of these incidents is long, and on many occasions the hatred has gone past rhetoric to unspeakable acts of violence against their targets. In many of these cases the police and media go out of their way to stress that the acts of violence were not hate crimes.

This is not to portray black people as a monolithic group of agitators or violent hate mongers because they are not, nor is it to show that white people are under siege by black people. This is simply to highlight a double standard, to show that if circumstances do not fit a given narrative no attention is paid to certain incidents of injustice. Americans must understand that there are prominent people who peddle in race baiting, they benefit politically and in other ways by constantly ginning up discontent and driving a wedge between the races. We have to reject their divisive tactics, see ourselves as Americans, honestly confront the issues that face us and apply the remedies needed to fix them. Let us tackle injustice, crime, violence and all of the ills that plague our society regardless of who the perpetrators or victims are because all lives matter.
